It's Simple…
Hi!
I have been wanting to do a blog post on false lashes (falsies) for a while now. The reason why is because before I started using them, I feared the application process. Every time I would try I either ruined my make up, or had glue all over my eyes. I will tell you all my simple tricks…
If your a beginner, don't worry don't worry this is very easy. First start off by prepping your eyes with a primer or my personal favorite a paint pot by MAC. Next what I do is my desired shadow look. After that depending on the type of liner you use you will begin the lash process.
In the pictures above, I used gel liner. Gel liner is in a pot and I take my own angled brush and hand paint the liner on. When I use this eye liner method, I do my liner before my lashes.
When I use liquid liner, which can either be pen form or other forms, I apply the liner after I apply my lashes.
You can really do what ever works easier for you! I personally think that when you apply gel liner the brush is a bit heavier and it can maybe pull of the lash when applying the liner. Where as the liquid is very fragile and delicate. The liquid liner can be applied over the lash with out pulling it off.
Now, My tricks ;)
* Always let the lash glue you spread on the lash get tacky! This was the one huge mistake I used to do when I started using lashes. If you just spread the glue and stick it on your lid with out letting it get tacky your setting yourself up to fail. Why? Because when it's still wet it won't stick to the lash right away. It will be slippery and slide all over the place when you try to get it to lie where you want it.
*I ALWAYS curl and apply mascara before I put on the lashes.
* I don't use tweezers or tools when applying the lashes. I use my fingers and stick the inner corner down and slowly wiggle the outer conner in, tucking it behind my natural lash.
*I don't buy expensive lashes. I buy KISS lashes. They are about five dollars for a pair. They are typically found at Walmart, Target or Wallgreens. I like them because they feel real and not like plastic. Use ANY you like. Large, small, thin or full.
*I DO cut the lash before using them. You can either cut it in half and glue it down in sections, or like me just cut a portion of them off and start a little more than half way up the lid.
*My favorite lash glue is by ALLURE. It come with the Katy Perry lashes. It has a stick in the glue and it spreads easily onto the false lash effortlessly.
* If you have white glue, be patient and let it dry. It will dry clear! I promise :)
*At night when you take them off pull the glue off gently. If you rip it off fast and rough it could tear the false lash in half. So be carful.
Don't give up! After reading these tricks, go ahead and try for yourself! I use a cosmetic mirror so that I can look close. If you try and make a mistake just keep trying. You will get it eventually, and when you do… It will take a minute or two in the morning to do your lashes.
